Alan Davies is a comedian, writer and actor best known for starring in the TV mystery series Jonathan Creek and as the permanent panellist on the TV panel show QI. He is also known for his talents as a writer and television presenter, Alan's name is synonymous with comedy, having performed at renowned events such as the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and the Just For Laughs Festival.

Alan began performing stand-up-comedy at the Whitstable Labour Club. He continued touring and performing in the UK and Canada, winning the Edinburgh Festival Critics Award for Comedy in 1994. Alan won the Time Out Award for Best Comic in 1991 and the work offers began to increase slowly, but surely In addition to his work as a comedian, Alan has also been highly sought after to present a variety of television and radio shows. One of his biggest television roles was starring as Jonathan in Jonathan Creek, and he has since appeared in Bob and Rose and Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging. He has also starred on the Big Fat Quiz and been a Judge on Show Me The Funny, along with Co-Writing The Alan Davies Show and being the Host of Alan Davies: As Yet Untitled for Dave.
