Florence Gaub
Security Expert
Florence Gaub is a Franco-German researcher, security expert, and futurist specialising in foresight-based policy formation for international relations and security policy. She currently serves as the Director of the Research Division at the NATO Defense College in Rome. Previously, she was the Deputy Director at the European Union Institute for Security Studies (EUISS) in Paris from 2018 until 2022.

Additionally, she has served as a foresight advisor at the General Secretariat of the Council, is a Visiting Professor at the College of Europe, and is a member of the World Economic Forum's Global Future Council on the Future of Complex Risks. Florence is also the founder and president of the think tank and consultancy, Futurate Institute. She advises high-level decision-makers in governments and international organisations such as NATO, OSCE, the UN, and the EU. From 2012 to 2015, she served as a reserve officer in the French Army with the rank of Major. Regarding the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine, Florence has been a prominent female security expert, frequently commenting in the media, especially on German late-night political talk shows.
