Jeremy's early career was as a news trainee. His first reporting assignments were on Radio 4′s Today programme. He then took up the reins as a political correspondent. He was named Speech Broadcaster of the Year at the Sony Awards in 2005 and 2011 and won Interview of the Year for the famous "head-in-hands" moment with Prime Minister Gordon Brown during the 2010 election. He has also presented BBC1's Points of View on Sundays, as well as Eggheads, one of the longest-running quiz shows in British TV history. Jeremy Vine is one of only four presenters in the history of Panorama, the world's oldest current affairs show.
